Hope you're enjoying your brand new Alienware 17 R5! By now, you might have started playing around a little bit with all the available eye tracking features for your device and then you might have noticed that the Touch features are unavailable.
The Touch features available for the Alienware 17 R5 are:
- Touch at Gaze
- Scroll at Gaze
- Zoom at Gaze
The features will be unavailable due to the 32-bit driver for the Synaptics Touchpad being missing. We will make sure that this works without any manual work needed in the next software update that will be released in May, but for now, you can uninstall your touchpad driver and install another driver package that includes both the 32-bit and 64-bit driver manually to get the touch features to work until then.
- Go to Device Manager - Mice and other pointing devices
- Right-click on Touchpad and choose Uninstall device. We recommend that you plug in an external mouse before uninstalling the touchpad driver.
- Download the driver package for your touchpad that includes both the 32-bit and 64-bit here.
- Just run the installer and then restart your computer.
Once we have released the next software update, we recommend that you update your driver again. You can do that by right-clicking on Touchpad in Device Manager and then pick Update driver.
