Camera Boost is available in Star Citizen!
Check the latest update of Star Citizen to enjoy a more natural extended view experience.
(It was added in patch 3.23)
Please note that this feature requires a Tobii Eye Tracker.
What is Camera Boost?
Camera Boost uses gaze to amplify your head movement. The boost increases when your gaze gets closer to the edge of the screen.
By adjusting the in-game camera boost value, gamers can set the maximum boost for head movement sensitivity. You can also set the Gaze dead-zone to determine how far from the screen center the boost begins.

Why you should turn on Camera Boost in Star Citizen
Camera Boost adds depth and realism to the Star Citizen experience, enriching the gameplay for all who venture into its immersive world.
- Enhanced Immersion: As you turn your head to scan the environment or target enemies, the camera movement closely follows your gaze and head movement to anticipate your intent. Camera Boost makes the in-game cockpit or first-person view feel more natural and responsive, enhancing the game immersion.
- Improved Situational Awareness: By amplifying head tracking rotation to move your in-game view or to move the game camera, you can intuitively scan your surroundings, identify threats, and react faster in combat scenarios. This heightened situational awareness can give you a competitive edge, especially in fast-paced dogfights or exploration missions.
Camera Boost settings
You could find the Camera Boost settings in Options Menu: COMMS, FOIP & Head Tracking.
This screenshot shows the recommended settings for Camera Boost.
Head Tracking - Tobii - Input Gaze Method
You can choose whether to enable Camera Boost as the Input Gaze Method or keep the original Input Mix for different tracking scenarios.
Head Tracking - Tobii - Camera Boost Value
This will tweak the maximal boost which can be applied to the head tracking rotation sensitivity. The greater the boost value, the easier it is to look backwards in the game, while still maintaining a good forward-looking experience.
Head Tracking - Tobii - Camera Boost Deadzone
Choose at what distance from the center of the screen you must look for the boost to start increasing (reaching its maximal boost at the edge of the screen).
We hope you enjoy Camera Boost and have a ton of fun with it in the Verse!
