🚧 Tobii Eye Tracker 5 issues in SU5 beta 🚧
We’ve identified Tobii Eye Tracker 5 issues specific to Sim Update 5 beta. We are working with Microsoft and Asobo to fix it.Â
Â
Tobii head and eye tracking is integrated into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Since Sim Update 3 (SU3), you can access Tobii settings directly in the simulator. There’s no need for third‑party plugins. Your cockpit view responds naturally to your eye and head movement.Â
But before you take off... 🛫

⛑️Known issues
Â
We’re investigating several issues affecting Tobii Eye Tracker 5 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS2024).
Depending on the sim update you use, you may encounter the following:
-
No settings shown
In SU4 and SU5 beta, the Hardware settings table is empty.
 -
Camera Boost unavailable in SU4Â
Camera Boost can’t be added through the standard settings interface.
Use the workaround below if you want to add it to your experience.
This affects all releases before SU5.
 -
No tracking and incorrect default settings:Â
In SU4 and SU5 beta, default settings may disable eye and head tracking.
Update the Tobii settings according to the values displayed above to restore normal behavior.
 -
Compatibility issues with Opentrack or TrackIR
If Opentrack or TrackIR is installed, the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 does not function correctly.Â
Uninstalling these programs allows the Tobii Eye Tracker to work, but only responds to eye movement with very slow tracking. This issue affects all SU releases.
 -
Slow head tracking in SU5 beta
If head tracking feels slow and unresponsive, adjust the rotation responsiveness in Developer mode.
Adjust responsivnes:Â
Â- Enable Developer mode.
- Open Debug and select Device Data.
- Select the Tobii tab.
- Select Display TGI settings in the lower-left corner.
- Expand HeadTracking.
- Set settings.HeadTracking.RotationResponsiveness to 1.
Â
đź’ˇTipÂ
While SU5 is not officially released, use the SU4 release for the best overall experience. SU4 is faster to set up, more intuitive, and does not require third-party apps. Update the settings as described above, and you are ready to go!Â
Â
Add Camera Boost to SU4
Â
While we were waiting for the SU5 release by the MSFS2024 team, we've come up with a workaround that allows you to add Camera boost to your eye and head tracking experience.Â
Requires Tobii Game Hub and Opentrack
Add Camera Boost:
- Download and install Tobii Game Hub: (link).
- Download and install Opentrack: (link).
- Set up Opentrack by following the instructions in How to do Opentrack setup for Tobii Game Hub
- Open Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Tobii Eye Tracker 5 should now work as expected.
- Adjust settings in Tobii Game Hub:
- Launch Tobii Game Hub, go to Games, and select Opentrack (pink octopus icon).
- Adjust the settings as needed or leave them at default.
đź’ˇTipÂ
In Tobii Game Hub, we suggest assigning a hotkey for reset head tracking to quickly reposition your view during gameplay.
