Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 6 adds a control that pauses Tobii head and eye tracking without changing the cockpit view.
Pause tracking when you need to move closer to an instrument or operate a small cockpit control. For example, you can:
- Lean closer to the instrument panel.
- Pause head and eye tracking.
- Adjust the altimeter, radio frequency, flight management system, or another cockpit control.
- Resume tracking when ready to continue.
While tracking is paused, the in-game camera stays in the same position and orientation. Head and eye movements do not move the camera until tracking resumes.
Assign the pause control
Sim Update 6 adds the following control action:
- EYE/HEAD TRACKING PAUSE
Control assignments can vary between profiles. In the keyboard profile shown in the screenshot, EYE/HEAD TRACKING PAUSE is assigned to Ctrl+Shift+6.
To find the current keyboard shortcut or change the assignment:
- Open Settings.
- Go to Controls.
- Select Keyboard, or other controller profile.
- Search for eye.
- Find EYE/HEAD TRACKING PAUSE.
- Select the settings icon next to the action.
- Assign a keyboard, joystick, throttle, or controller input.
- Apply and save the changes.
Sim Update 6 also renames the related eye and head tracking actions. The action names now start with EYE/HEAD TRACKING, which makes them easier to find together by searching for eye.
The related actions shown in the keyboard profile are:
- EYE/HEAD TRACKING RESET
- EYE/HEAD TRACKING PAUSE
- EYE/HEAD TRACKING TOGGLE
Resume tracking
Use the assigned EYE/HEAD TRACKING PAUSE control again to resume Tobii head and eye tracking.
Availability
The EYE/HEAD TRACKING PAUSE action is available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 6, version 1.8.14.0, released on August 13, 2026.
